Asterisk is a small, female backed production company seeking to develop, support and finance ambitious, multi-language projects with original viewpoints and international scope.

Asterisk’s motto is “An asterisk is a star in the sky. Big stars, little stars....we are a home for creators who shine”. The asterisk sign is also the sign for multiplication - Asterisk films is a “multiplier in the film business”.

The brief I was given was to create a playful ident that is based on a night sky with stars and somehow incorporates some form of multiplication.

I submitted multiple initial concepts, and the client ended up picking the one seen below: A comet playfully moving and jumping through the night sky and bouncing off the individual letters of the logo, multiplying itself and revealing letters made out of thousands of little stars.
